February 19th, 2016 – Avian Friday: Funkfoot

I haven’t been out doing any bird photography since last months trip to Stanwood, WA for Short-eared Owls, Looking through some of my archive files, I came across a bunch of snow geese shots from Skagit Valleys’ Fir Island. I was glad to find this image which normally might have been deleted during initial review of images from a shoot. The slower shutter speed (unintentionally) used gives a nice sense of motion in the wings and I think adds to the composition. I decided to process it in monochrome to focus on the forms and texture of the birds.
