January 22nd, 2016 – Avian Friday: Short-Eared Owl

Sorry for having to have to take a hiatus from the blog last week, I’ve been super busy preparing for current and upcoming art shows as well as trying to get a little  fishing in as well as some event photography. I was out a couple of weekends ago to photograph more Short-eared Owls and Northern Harriers. While neither of  the two are particularly fast flyers and the Owls are not constantly in flight so it’s not always easy to acquire and maintain focus. I managed  to get a few keepers at a longer distance range. Here is one of them that has been cropped down to offer a closer look.
