October 2nd, 2015 – Avian Friday: Great Blue in B & W

For this weeks bird I wanted to post something a little different with an image processed in monochrome.Black and white images are usually focused on aspects such as form, texture and light so I had to do a little bit of searching to find an appropriate subject. I think this Great Blue Heron shot exemplifies those qualities. The color version of this image is appealing, but I think the monochromatic treatment  of it lends it to more of an artistic presentation. Let me know what you think.
