February 13th, 2015- Avian Friday: Killer Instinct

This weeks image comes from a re-processed shot given my digital artistic processing technique. I was traveling for work most of this week and away from my archive of images (no, I haven’t made it out to capture anything new and exciting yet) so I thought I revisit this little newly fledged Great Blue Heron. This youngster was fresh out of the nest minutes before this shot was captured. Already its feeding instincts are being honed as it takes jabs at a twig in the water. It’s no wonder these guys are such efficient predators.
