February 14th, 2014 – Avian Friday: Beach Bum

I’m still riding the wave of celebration for the Seattle Seahawks victory in Super Bowl XLVIII so I’ll be posting a series of raptor images over the next few weeks. To kick things off, here is a Bald Eagle captured on Washington’s Hood Canal. Usually if you can find a concentration of these magnificent birds, there will most likely be a nearby food source . In this case there was an abundance of Sculpin fish exposed in the shallows during the outgoing tide. This guy is looking for some young punk he can steal a meal from.:)
