November 23rd, 2013 – Avian Friday: Peregrine Falcon

Its been quite a while since I’ve been out to capture any new bird images, but there still plenty of un-processed leftovers from previous outings that I can share with you. During a couple of nice mornings in Skagit Valley a few years back, I had the chance to see this Peregrine Falcon in action. There was a small window of time it was actively hunting a nearby flock of Dunlin shorebirds that came in for rest during the Padilla Bay high tide. Following an unsuccessful kill attempt, this one did a fly by for the nearby crowd of photographers and bird watchers.
