November 23rd, 2012 – Avian Friday: Snow Geese

Each winter, flock of Snow Geese numbering in the thousands migrate through Washingtons’ Skagit Valley. Bird watchers and photographers travel to the area to catch glimpse of them along with other species of raptors: Bald Eagles, Owls, Hawks and Falcons. The Snow Geese always travel in large flocks, but I caught this trio taking off ahead of the pack.
