July 6th, 2012 – Avian Friday: Hummertime!

Now that I’m finished with my college term paper I finally have some time to get out to shoot again. It’s the time of the year  when flowers are becoming full of nectar which attracts many of the  hummingbirds in our region. Because of their high metabolism and energy spent flying, an average bird can consume up to twice its body weight in nectar a day. These guys will probably be gracing the blog pages for the next several weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have fun shooting them.
