June 22nd, 2012 – Avian Friday: Killdeer

I haven’t been out doing much shooting lately, especially for birds so here is another from the archives.  The Killdeer is pretty weary and shy bird so its tough to get close to them. The use of  a 2X teleconverter on the 500mm lens provided a better look at this one. And with most shorebirds and waterfowl images, a low angle helps keep a sense of intimacy with the subject.
