September 30th, 2011: Summer’s Song

The view from Kerry Park is one of the most famous and photographed view of the Seattle. While I have shot there on a few occasions, I have yet to be there on a nice clear evening for a sunset that includes Mount Rainier in the background. On a nice summer ending evening  a couple of weeks back it looked as if we might have ideal conditions, but by the time I made my way across town from Beacon to Queen Anne hill the clouds had rolled in on the western skies obscuring the sunset light over the city.  While disappointed, I did have the opportunity to shoot alongside fellow Seattle photographer Michael Riffle who I had met the week before at the Google + Photowalk. I also took advantage of the opportunity to make a few night images.
