August 3rd, 2011 – Dawn’s Magical Light

I’m normally not an early morning person, but during salmon fishing season it is pretty much a prerequisite to be out on the water by dawn to have a better chance at catching fish. Yesterday I experienced a sunrise that was quite spectacular and made me wish I’d had the DSLR onboard  to capture it. I did  at least have the iPhone and my little Canon S95 to make a few images, but it hardly came close to recording the scene. While I was traveling across the Sound from Seattle to Kingston on my way to the fishing grounds  I stopped to grab a few images looking back toward the city including this one.

View of  Mount Rainier from North Puget Sound.   Seattle, Washington

Canon S95, 22.5mm,  f/2,  ISO 125, 2 Exposure HDR, Custom Mode.   Hand-held.  Post processing – iCamera HDR, Nik Snapseed for iPad, Filterstorm.
