The American Goldfinch  is not so easy to sneak up on unless they are preoccupied with a meal as this one was chowing down in a lettuce patch.  Able to get to a reasonably close distance of about 20 feet, I wasn’t going to push my luck too much further. The use of a  2X teleconverter allowed me to get a little closer and without sacrificing too much detail.
