July 9th, 2011: Marine Layers
Here is another image in the Alki Point sunset series. Although the lighthouse here is interesting because of its height above the shoreline it is awkward to incorporate into a composition from the beach. The lighthouse grounds themselves (inside the fenced area) are off-limits to the public. I found that stepping back from it a ways helped to cut some of the distracting elements around the lighthouse property. I also tried to use the shoreline to help lead the eye into the frame.
