June 28th, 2011 – Worker Bee

I love it when I plan to go shoot something specific and then end up finding the bonus something totally different to also make image of.  I posted an image of a trellis at the Washington Park Arboretum Visitors Center a  while back and wanted to re-shoot it with the Wisteria flowers in bloom. Unfortunately, I had waited too long and most of the flowers on it were already spent. I did however find another different and perhaps more interesting view of another part of it which I will post in the next couple days.  I completely forgot about the other flowers that were on the Arboretum grounds there including this Star of Persia ( Allium albopilosum ). The female Bumble Bee paused just long enough to add a nice touch to the image.
