April 27th, 2011 – Spring Emergence

Last week while out shooting birds with the long glass I stopped to take a look at the flowers starting to bloom at the Urban Horticulture Center.  This is a great spot to shoot macro floral images as well as to pick up on some ideas for additions to the garden. I’m not sure what flower this is, but of the few that were starting to bloom there I was drawn to its shape and texture. Since I didn’t have any other gear with me besides the point-n-shoot, I took a few frames of it  with the 500/4L. Post work on this image consisted of a few curves adjustment layers and a slight contrast shift with Topaz Adjust.
