April 1st, 2011 – Avian Friday: Cinnamon Teal

This weeks avian image is the Cinnamon Teal. I pulled this one from the archives as I was looking for some candidates to try the single image HDR tone-mapping on. It’s quite a heavy crop of the original, but I wanted to emphasize on a couple of the significant features of  this elegant duck; the color of the eye and the texture and color of the plumage. I actually tone-mapped this one twice with the saturation and luminosity settings lessened on the second go round.
