January 29th, 2011 – Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Part of what has helped me keep my sanity and my mind occupied lately is the stone wall project in front of our house that I began working on in December. The greater part has been my faith which I am constantly leaning on to help us get though the grieving process.  Also the many prayers of friends and family are also playing a huge part in our healing process.  A huge thanks goes out to all of you. I had taken a break from working on the wall for a couple of weeks, but now am back at it. Its progressing slowly, but surely and I am enjoying the challenge of its construction. It’s like a huge jigsaw puzzle trying to make all the pieces fit together nicely.  Here is a quick view of the progress I’ve made so far:

The image of this bridge (below) was taken at Marenakos Rock Center ,which is the regions leading supplier of natural stone. Since 2004 they have held an annual 4-day event and gathering of stone masons and sculptors known as StoneFest. This bridge was built entirely during the 2008 StoneFest event.
