December 22nd, 2010 – Just Around The Corner

This image is from a couple of months back when I borrowed the Canon 17-40/f4 lens from a good buddy of mine. I had heard mixed reviews from people about this lens in the past, but lately I see more and more top landscape shooters using it. Although f4 can be a little slow for some hand-held work in lower light situations, it’s not really a problem for those of us shooting HDR or landscapes on tripods. Without a doubt, this lens is very sharp and I was also impressed with its corner performance. Most of the images I’ve posted from Maui were taken using the 17-40L. If you are a Canon shooter looking for a wide-angle lens, make sure you check this great little zoom.
