December 5th, 2010 – Chain Reaction

On a recent Urbex outing  I had the opportunity to photograph inside this marine supply warehouse. A part of the complex included this incredible chain pile that had very large ship anchors and chains. Some of the largest anchors were 7 to 8 Tons! Individual links of the largest chains were nearly the size of a small watermelon. Often when I see cool urbex images posted on Twitter, I wonder how such locations are found or accessed. In this case I just went to the business owner and asked for permission. It was a treat to  shoot at this location and I’m hoping I will get a chance to photograph some of the other facilities here in the future.
