November 2nd, 2010 – Pretty in Pink

I really liked the back-lighting and colors through the fall foliage of these Japanese Maple trees in this scene. It seems almost impossible to capture/duplicate the quality of this type of light exactly as I saw it on a digital sensor. I tried making a few brackets and tone-mapping in HDR, but it seemed to take away from the character of the image by reducing the shadows too much. Perhaps I needed a higher number of exposures to record the full dynamic range.
