The Chicago Federal Center is a cluster of buildings designed by the great architect Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe. They were constructed in 1975 and includes the Dirksen and Kluczynski Federal Buildings and Post Office. Located in the centers plaza is the prominent sculpture “Flamingo” , designed by notable American sculptor Alexander Calder.
