Skagit Spring Saturday

Bald Eagle @ Fir Island

Bald Eagle @ Fir Island

I spent a portion of this beautiful spring day back at Fir Island in the Skagit Valley. It seems that the warmer weather has promoted the migration of the Snow Geese and perhaps the Short-eared Owls as well. I didn’t see nearly the numbers of raptors as on previous trips. I did pass by the some of the Tulip fields on the way up to Edison, but the mid-day light and crowds of tourists discouraged me from stopping to capture any tulip images.
Finished the afternoon with a visit to Montlake Fill. As tomorrow is Mom’s birthday, thoughts of her accompanied me as I was out in nature today.
